As inscrições para o Prémio Literário “Poesia no Musseque”, promovido pela Brigada Jovem de Literatura (BJLA), acontece de 10 a 30 deste mês, e podem candidatar-se jovens escritores angolanos dos 18 aos 35 anos.
O prémio literário “Poesia no Musseque” é instituído pela Brigada Jovem da Literatura de Angola (BJLA), em parceria com o Conselho Nacional da Juventude (CNJ).
Este Prémio tem como patrono o escritor angolano Antero Abreu, que viveu de 1927 a 2017.

“Fazer muito com pouco” tem sido a palavra-chave de um projecto cultural mural denominado “Street’Art”, coordenado por um grupo de jovens arquitectos, que envolve artistas plásticos e a comunidade, lançado, recentemente, em Luanda.
Preocupado com as questões ambiental e ecológica, particularmente na vala de drenagem do Rio Seco e algumas zonas críticas na capital do país, o projecto tem estado a mudar o visual e dar uma nova imagem ao Distrito Urbano da Maianga, segundo o mentor da iniciativa, o arquitecto Bernardino dos Santos.
De acordo com o mentor da iniciativa, os murais têm estado a mudar o quotidiano de várias comunidades e de algumas zonas periféricas da cidade. Becos e ruelas, espaços baldios, paredes de residências, zonas precárias ganharam vida, alegria e cor com desenhos que despertam a necessidade da preservação ecológica e ambiental.
Atentos à movimentação dos artistas plásticos, de um lado para o outro, com baldes de tintas e pincéis a mãos, explicou, são os moradores das comunidades que agradecem a iniciativa e comprometem-se a colaborar na higienização do seu bairro.
A intenção, adiantou o arquitecto Bernardino dos Santos é neste época do ano procurar sensibilizar as populações das consequências e os riscos de se depositar o lixo e outros resíduos na vala de drenagem do Rio Seco, por ser um atentado à saúde pública.
Os desenhos, ressaltou, vão desde a imaginação criativa de cada um a temas ligados, preferencialmente, a questões ambientais. Todos os anos, nesta fase, lembrou, a ideia é transformar a vala do Rio Seco num lugar de massificação cultural com propósitos ecológicos, na salvaguarda do bem-estar das populações locais e preservação das infra-estruturas públicas e do património cultural da cidade, que precisam ser resguardados como legado para as gerações vindouras.

Lying inside our home galaxy, the Milky Way, this Herbig–Haro object is a turbulent birthing ground for new stars in a region known as the Orion B molecular cloud complex, located 1,350 light-years away.
Herbig–Haro (HH) objects are bright patches of nebulosity associated with newborn stars that form when narrow jets of partially ionized gas ejected by stars collide with nearby clouds of gas and dust. This image of Herbig-Haro Jet HH 24 was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope in 2015.
When stars form within giant clouds of cool molecular hydrogen, some of the surrounding material collapses under gravity to form a rotating, flattened disk encircling the newborn star.
Although planets will later congeal in the disk, at this early stage the protostar is feeding on the disk with a voracious appetite. Gas from the disk rains down onto the protostar and engorges it. Superheated material spills away and is shot outward from the star in opposite directions along an uncluttered escape route – the star’s rotation axis.
Shock fronts develop along the jets and heat the surrounding gas to thousands of degrees Fahrenheit. The jets collide with the surrounding gas and dust and clear vast spaces, like a stream of water plowing into a hill of sand.

A new trio of examples of ‘data sonification’ from NASA missions provides a new method to enjoy an arrangement of cosmic objects. Data sonification translates information collected by various NASA missions — such as the Chandra X-ray Observatory, Hubble Space Telescope, and Spitzer Space Telescope — into sounds.
This image of the Bullet Cluster (officially known as 1E 0657-56) provided the first direct proof of dark matter, the mysterious unseen substance that makes up the vast majority of matter in the Universe. X-rays from Chandra (pink) show where the hot gas in two merging galaxy clusters has been wrenched away from dark matter, seen through a process known as “gravitational lensing” in data from Hubble (blue) and ground-based telescopes. In converting this into sound, the data pan left to right, and each layer of data was limited to a specific frequency range. Data showing dark matter are represented by the lowest frequencies, while X-rays are assigned to the highest frequencies. The galaxies in the image revealed by Hubble data, many of which are in the cluster, are in mid-range frequencies. Then, within each layer, the pitch is set to increase from the bottom of the image to the top so that objects towards the top produce higher tones.

A estilista e directora criativa angolana Jurema Maria Ferreira da Glória Ramos obteve 20 (vinte) valores na sua dissertação de mestrado, defendida no passado dia 12 de Novembro, no curso de Direcção Artística e Marketing de Moda, na École de Condé de Paris (França).
Como integrante do curso de Direcção Artística e Marketing de Moda, Jurema da Glória Ramos mereceu igualmente do corpo de jurados menções honrosas e rasgados elogios pela forma “crua” como expôs os assuntos que dominaram a dissertação.
A dissertação teve como tema “A Geração da Utopia”, numa abordagem histórica, cultural, política, económica e social do nosso país, com foco na perda da identidade cultural e contributos para o seu resgate. Jurema da Glória Ramos retratou também a importação de roupa nova e de segunda mão no país, a indústria têxtil e a juventude angolana e suas influências.
Jurema da Glória Ramos nasceu em Moscovo, na antiga União Soviética, quando os seus pais lá estudavam. Fez o curso médio de enfermagem no Colégio Bem-Dizer e frequentou dois anos do curso de medicina na Universidade Jean Piaget, mas acabou por se licenciar em Arquitectura na Universidade Lusíada de Angola (ULA). Posteriormente ingressou no Studio Berçot de Paris, onde veio a licenciar-se em Design de Moda.

Perception of space – whether it is physical, digital, topological, quantum, or hyper – requires particular kinds of interactive and cognitive processes through which we become aware of the relative positions of objects around us. Our techno-aesthetic inquiries into how we make sense of spaces focus on revealing numerous meanings of this awareness from the intersection of post-digital architecture, neuroscience, technology, and machine learning. In this lecture, I will discuss how audio-visual, immersive, and interactive media arts help us overcome the limitations of perspectival representation and play a crucial role in the symbiotic relationship between perception and imagination.
Istanbul native Refik Anadol is a media artist, director and pioneer in the aesthetics of machine intelligence. His body of work puts creativity at the intersection of humans and machines. Using data as his primary material, he creates site-specific sculptures, live audio/visual performances and immersive installations that encourage us to rethink our engagement with the physical world, its temporal and spatial dimensions and the creative potential of machines.

O Centro Cultural Brasil-Angola (CCBA), em Luanda, dá início hoje, às 10h00, à sua programação cultural semanal, com a narração de histórias por Maria Ângela que vai transportar as crianças mais uma vez para o mundo das fábulas com o conto infantil “A Missanga e o Sapupo” da escritora angolana Cremilda de Lima.
Cremilda de Lima é autora dos livros “A Velha Sanga Partida”, “Mussulo uma Ilha Encantada”,”O Maboque Mágico”, “A Kyanda e o Barquinho de Fuxi”, “A Colher e o Génio do Canavial”, “O Embondeiro que Queria ser Árvore de Natal”, “A Missanga e o Sapupo” e “O Nguiko e as Mandiocas”.
A sétima arte africana e brasileira também vai merecer destaque, esta semana, na programação do CCBA, com a realização, no sábado, a partir das 19h00, do “Live Cinema – Conexão Brasil/África”.
O “Live Cinema” tem a parceria dos Centros Culturais do Brasil de Moçambique e Cabo Verde, no qual os realizadores Joel Zito Araújo, Fradique, Licínio Azevedo, Samira Vera-Cruz, Mário Cabral e Ebeh Augustine Onyema vão partilhar as suas experiências e falar sobre os seus mais recentes trabalhos.

The work of British artist Ed Fornieles examines the habits, rules and protocols of 21st century culture, including the internet, social media, digital economies and sitcom architecture, through which we come to define ourselves and within which our identities are made up and made real. His work comprises installation, sculpture, performance and video, and has been described as “a caricature of digital culture.” In this studio visit, Fornieles will reveal modes of his artistic practice that model our social processes, and the power structures they reproduce.
The “Virtual Artist Studio Visits” series explores the practice of four contemporary artists, using the studio visit as a starting point, and is loosely based around the concept of performing identity: how we frame and are framed by our identity. The series is organised in collaboration with StudioVisit.
Ed Fornieles (b. 1983, UK), lives and works in London. He has exhibited in a wide range of international institutions, including New Museum, New York, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt, Zabludowicz Collection, London, 12th Biennale de Lyon, Barbican Art Gallery, London, Chisenhale Gallery, London, Serpentine Gallery, London, ZKM, Karlsruhe Germany, Carlos/Ishikawa, London, and Carl Kostyal, Stockholm. He gained his MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art, London, and his BA in Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford University.
